One could be rich with a magic stone that offered everything. Lo and behold, the owner simply gave it away. People wondered. The recipient himself returned and asked the man, "What made you decide to give the magic stone?" We could ask the poor widow of today's gospel the same question. What made her decide to give all the two copper coins or "lepta" that she had? Simple -- She trusted in God. Poor materially but rich in faith. |
