16 May: NEWS may come from the N-orth, E-ast, W-est and S-outh... from all over the world. Most of them are bad, discouraging and threatening. They weigh us down. But the news spoken of in today's liturgy is GOOD. It is "evangelion" in Greek originally referrring to the good news of the birth, enthronement and victory of the king. Beginning the year 150, it referred to the sacred book, to the good news who is JESUS himself. Let's proclaim this news. Christ is alive in you and me. |
