Obedience is repaid with obedience. Joseph and Mary obeyed the law and went to Jerusalem for the feast of the Passover. After the "loss" and finding of the child Jesus, the latter is described by the gospel as "obedient" to his parents. Adults can only expect obedience from the young ones if they themselves practise this virtue. True indeed, obedience begets obedience. |
