Both marriage and celibacy are noble. Today's gospel focuses on the indissolubility of marriage and the special call to embrace celibacy for the sake of the kingdom. Whether one is called to marry or live a celibate life, there is always an invitation to fidelity. Both a married person and an ordained priest ought to remain faithful. Intimacy with God can be nourished in both states of life. |
