The standard or measure in loving another is how we love ourselves. This is the second commandment, according to Jesus. Obviously we care for ourselves. We know what is self-preservation. Without disregarding others, we take care of our well-being. Such love for ourselves is extended to other people. What we do to ourselves we also do to them. |
