Do you want a place of honor? The scribes and the Pharisees do. Certainly Mary does not. She is a lowly handmaid who does not expect any honor or recognition. But God honored her by making her Queen of heaven and earth. Her queenship is tied up with her motherdood. Yes, she is the Queen-Mother who shares the power of the Son-King. Unwanted and undesired, the honor is given her.
