A very insulting and belittling remark, "Can anything good come from Nazareth?" Of course, Nathanael knows that Nazareth is poorer and worse than Cana, his own town. Hence, the question. Which reflects our own derogatory remark when we hear about people, places and events we consider inferior. Yes, many times we tend to depreciate persons and things. We uncharitably give criticism a fine hour. |
