As I reach the 30th anniversary of my ordination, I wish to share a short poem of mine, "Umasa ka sa Diyos/At gawin ang ayos/Magligtas ng buhay/Sa kapwa magmahal." This thought is lifted from today's gospel. Jesus asks, "Is it lawful to do good on a Sabbath?.... to save life..?" I believe my role as a priest (and Christian) is to rely on God, do good and save life in the name of love. No more. No less.
