Put no limit. Set no bounds. This, in a nutshell, is the message of this Sunday's gospel. The mathematical figure (70 times 7 or 77 times) matters little. What matters most is the message. There is no limit to forgiveness. The parable speaks about the magnanimity of God's love. Which should inspire each one of us. We were forgiven by God so, we must forgive an erring fellow. Not once or twice or seven times. It is endless. It is limitless. It knows no measure. It knows no bounds. |
