We don't pay attention. That is why we fail to understand. Students know that. If they get distracted and lose focus, they will not grasp the lessons. Jesus exhorts his listeners to pay attention to what he is saying. Many times they don't. What's the use of eloquent preaching if we do not pay attention at all? What's the use of contemplative prayer if we do not lend God our listening hearts? |
