Word of honor or "palabra de honor" connotes being true to one's word. In Filipino, "may isang salita." Both the two sons in the parable had no word of honor. The first son refers to the tax-collectors and prostitutes who said No but later got converted. The second refers the chief priests and elders who said Yes but later disobeyed. No "palabra de honor." In life and in faith, we need consistency and unity of words and deeds. |
