Heaven is a state of supreme and definitive happiness. There we enjoy a beatific vision of God. As we honor today all the faithful departed, we express our longing for eternal life. The father's "house" or "dwelling" spoken of in today's gospel is our goal. We desire to attain that communion with him. There is a sure way. When we "abide" in the Lord, we shall have an "abode" with him. |
