We bury either that which we hide or that which is lifeless. In the parable of today's gospel, the fearful and lazy servant buried the coin entrusted to him. He hid it and it went lifeless because it never got the chance to gain more. The talents that we hide, the capacities that we never harness, sooner or later will tend to wane. We don't bury these God-given talents because they are not lifeless at all. They can grow, mature, flourish and come to an abundant fruition in due time. |
