The song "Here comes the sun" celebrates the joy of summer after a "long lonely winter." Today's gospel talks about the coming of summer signalled by the budding forth of figs and other trees. It strikes a chord of hope amidst despair of covid-19. When we are about to succumb into hopelessness, only a promising future will sustain us. No amount of cold winter could blow the breeze of spring that ushers in a joyful summer.
