Carousing! This is a universal phenomenon. People all over the world carouse with different reasons -- hilarity, companionship, escapism etc. Today's gospel is opposed to carousing or drunkenness which renders one indisposed and unprepared to meet the Lord, coming in surprise. Without the influence of a "proverbial" liquor, we shall stand erect, ready and courageous to face the Lord. |
