Human knowledge is not a sure key to the understanding of the mysteries of God's kingdom. Childlike humility is. In today's gospel Jesus praised the Father for having hidden heavenly mysteries from the learned and for having revealed them to the childlike. Christmas is fast approaching. It reminds us that those who first saw the new born King were the simple shepherds who knew nothing. Humble and simple hearts understand the ways of God. |
