Even if the words "immaculate conception" do not appear in the Bible, two biblical texts can be put together to prove this dogma. In Lk. 1:28 Luke speaks of Mary as "favored or graced" [in Greek "kecharitomene"]. Mary was transformed by that grace [which takes away sin or hinders its entrance as implied in the Greek "echaritosen" of Eph. 1:6-7]. As a consequence, sin did not enter in her, ie, she was Immaculately Conceived. |
