"Nothing is good," says a pessimist. Yes, pessimism closes one's eyes and heart that the person fails to see the good side. The gospel illustrates pessimism with the imagery of "neither nor," that is, people's inability to see the good -- neither in Jesus nor in John the Baptist. May we not fall into the same trap. We should realize that not everything is good but there is good in everything. |
