While usually a reflection on the name "John" would focus on the gift, it is also significant to dwell on a shared joy expressed by the people who rejoiced with Elizabeth's gift of delayed maternity. It is good to be gifted but it is better to discover that in that giftedness, others are happy for us. Instead of pulling down an ascending fellow, let us look up celebrating because that person's joy is ours, too. |
