In writing, one of the types of lead is called "contrast." In today's gospel the movement of the wind was in direct contrast to the gesture of Jesus. The wind was against the rowing disciples while the Lord was moving towards them. The words "against" and "for" are grammatically opposite. That is the mystery of faith. When life seems so dark, Jesus comes to brighten our way. |
