As social distancing becomes the norm, proximity has become a foreign idea. One should never stay close to another lest he gets infected by the virus. In today's gospel, notwithstanding the rule on segregation, Jesus approached the leper and stretched out his hand. Ps. 138:7 shows how God stretches out his hand to take someone under his care. We, too, can go beyond a rule to discover its spirit which is love. |
