Is there such a thing as "holy insanity?" In today's gospel, Jesus is accused of being "out of his mind" or in Filipino, "nasisiraan ng bait." In Italian, it is kinder because "fuori di se" means "beside himself" or "nawawala sa sarili" which is not outrightly negative [unlike "fuori di testa" which means "mentally deranged"]. For being so passionate in ministry as having no time to eat, for his choice of the kingdom, the Lord was thought of to be insane. Such holy insanity! |
