I tell my students in Homiletics that Jesus is the best preacher. He uses ordinary life as a jumping board for his message. Today's gospel bears testimony. He referred to sowing to draw a message about the fruition of the Word of God. Are we desiring to preach? Let it be drawn from life. Let the Word of God be applied to daily living. Such down-to-earth application is truly powerful. |
