God's work, not man's. This phrase summarizes the common message of the two parables of today's gospel. The seed grows by itself with its innate power. The mustard seed has the same innate power to be transformed into a largest plant. How do these happen? Not through man's efforts but always through the working of God's grace. What our limited human capacity cannot do, Divine power can immeasurably accomplish. |
