There is an interesting contrast in today's gospel. The royal official was afraid that his son would "die." Jesus assured him that his son would "live." Many times, we succumb in despair but Jesus strengthens our hope. When we grope in darkness, Jesus makes our path bright. When stormy seas terrify us, a gentle breeze comforts our hearts. Contrasts make life exciting. They enliven our faith in the Lord who controls our life and destiny. |
