Today would have been the 101st birthday of the late Jose Cardinal Sanchez. His episcopal motto was "Teach me to do your will." Jesus, in today's gospel, declares his oneness with his Father. He does only what his Father is doing. He seeks not his own will but the will of his Father. This is also our vocation as Christians. We make our own the words of the Psalmist which were adopted by Cardinal Sanchez, "Doce me facere voluntatem tuam." |
