23 March: The cross looks like a plus sign. True indeed, in the Johannine Theology, the cross is viewed positively. The evangelist uses the expression "lifted up" to emphasize the glorification of Jesus hanging on the cross. Today's gospel speaks of the same "lifting up." Let us look at the cross not with fear but with joy. It is the victory of Jesus. It is ours, too. |
