A sinner is a slave. Today's gospel affirms that everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin. When we sin, we lose the freedom of the children of God. Our inordinate attachment to the flesh darkens our otherwise clear vision making us walk in trepidation. Our selfish tendencies build a wall instead of a bridge. Sin bars us inside our troubled conscience. With sins, we shall never taste the sweetness of freedom. |
