Why is stone the usual matter for throwing in anger or in protest? Simple! It's lighter to throw but surely it hurts and inflicts pain. Stoning to death is a punishment for those caught "in flagrante delicto."Jesus was being stoned for alleged "blasphemy." We, too, are throwing stones when we accuse people, when we slander their good name. Let us not throw stones so as not to inflict unnecessary pain. |
