Nobody witnessed the resurrection, not even those guarding the tomb. Not you. Not me. Yes, no one has seen the actual rising of Jesus from the dead but many have seen the Risen Lord. That the tomb is empty suggested many things. Mary Magdalene thought that the corpse was stolen. The beloved disciple "saw and believed" that a Divine promise was fulfilled. It is our duty to recognize the Risen Lord and make him appear to others through our words, through our lives. Happy Easter! |
