If, in utmost despair, we condemn ourselves and think that even God has condemned us, today's gospel will change our perspective. "God sent his Son not to condemn the world but to save it." Unworthy sinners that we are, God does not condemn us but saves us with his unconditonal mercy. Let us be back on our feet again. We repent. We shall be forgiven. We shall be saved. |
