Only a single letter differentiates the word "abide" from "abode." They are almost spelled similarly. The two concepts are connected in terms of meaning. If we "abide" in God, we shall have an "abode" in heaven. Even the Greek words ["monai" for rooms and "meno, menein" for remaining or abiding"] are related to each other. It is nice to say it in Filipino, "Kapag kay Hesus tayo'y nakakapit, silid sa langit ating makakamit." |
