St. Teresa's "Solo Dios basta" has a biblical parallel in today's gospel. The utterance of Philip, " Show us the Father and that will be enough for us" is in close connection with the thoughts of the holy woman of Avila. Which should be our disposition, too. Amidst the ephemeral mundane promises, let us discover what is truly essential without which life is meaningless. It is God who alone suffices. He is our life. He is our all. |
