The ever favorite song, the MRS "My way" is human but not yet Christian. To bear the mark of Christianity, it must be "Jesus' way." Today's gospel speaks of the standard of loving, ie, "as Jesus has loved us." It implies loving at the point of shedding blood. It means "dying." That's the way we should live. It's not "my way" because it fears death. It's not "my way" because it is self-centered. The rule of loving: as Jesus did. Yes, it's Jesus' Way. |
