What is "gracious aging?" It is our capacity to accept the words of Jesus addressed to Peter, "When you were younger, you used to dress yourself... but when you grow old, someone else willl dress you." The words "you will stretch out your hands" refer to Peter's crucifixion. Whatever our future holds, we say Yes. We are ready. We accept. That's what we call aging graciously. |
