During roll call, when your name is called, you say "present." When we make the sign of the cross, we invoke the names of the three Persons of the Triune God. We don't hear the word "Present" but we feel the Divine Presence. That is the promise of Jesus in today's gospel. He is Emmanuel. "God-with-us" till the end of time. Why be sad? Why lose hope? We should take courage. God is ever Present. |
