Our visit to other people should bring joy to them. It is interesting to note the parallelism between Lk. 1:39-45 and 2 Sam 6:2ff. Both the baby John the Baptist and King David danced for joy. Both joyfully felt God's presence -- in Mary's womb and in the Ark of the Covenant. Our mission as Christians is to bring Christ to others. With our words, actions and our very life, we can be a living "presence" of God and consequently, a fountain of true joy. |
