In heaven there is no more marriage. Jesus affirms that in today's gospel to counterattack the Sadducees who foresaw marital problems in heaven [and thereby declare resurrection as something absurd]. If earthly marriage gives joy, a greater joy awaits us in heaven. There will be no experience of dissatisfaction. There is no expectation. No frustration. There is only love. There is pure joy. There is genuine peace. |
