Pure of heart? What does that mean? Exegetes who deal with the Matthean Beatitudes say it does not refer to chastity. The pure of heart are people whose motives are unmixed. They are sincere. When we say "puro," we mean "walang halo." When our heart is pure, it is not adulterated by worldliness. It beats for God and for God alone. |
