Blood and water. Eucharist and Baptism. The Fathers of the Church were quick to name these two sacraments flowing from the pierced side of the Lord. This side is near the Heart of Jesus. It reminds us that from his Heart flow two great sacraments of our salvation. We are cleansed by the waters of Baptism and blood of the Eucharistic Lord. This is a great Feast worth celebrating. |
