In good times, it is easy to follow the Lord. But in trying times, when life is burdensome, it is so difficult to follow him. The scribe's resolve, "Lord, I will follow you wherever you go" is easier said than done. We, too, make such promises. It requires an unconditional decision to tread the way of Jesus, whether joyful or sorrowful. It means saying Yes to the Lord in good times and in bad. |
