Why do we consider Sts. Peter and Paul great? Their greatness consists in their identification with Christ. Peter knew the Lord and was able to say, "You are Christ, the Son of the Living God." Paul had the boldness to say, "It is Christ who lives in me." They both worked hard to be configured to Christ. We may not enjoy the honor accorded to Sts. Peter and Paul but we share in the same vocation to imitate Christ. |
