To be moved with pity is to be disturbed from within. Such was the sentiments of Jesus when he saw the crowds like sheep without a shepherd. Our compassion for others is not skin-deep. It should come to our core. When our heart is troubled at the sight of someone in need, we will do everything to ease his condition. Mercy will be translated into concrere action. |
