Despite several attempts to stem the transmission of this virus, most people are still afraid lest they get infected and die alone. Today's gospel becomes a source of strength. The reassuring words of Jesus "Do not be afraid" appear thrice to emphasize their meaning. Yes, we are enjoined to courageously trust in the Lord of history. He is true to his promises. We have no reason to be afraid. |
