The God who is "dives in misericordia" invites us to be equally "rich in mercy." The parable of the unforgiving servant shows the failure of the servant who was forgiven but refused to forgive. It's a great shame on us to refuse to show mercy when we ourselves are "mercied." It's a scandal not to forgive when we ourselves received unlimited forgiveness. God is our model. What he does we must try to emulate. |
