God is just. He is also charitable. The parable of the hired laborers reveals that God acts not only on the level of justice but also of charity. He paid those who came last with the same amount received by those who came first. Such generosity! We are enjoined to deal generously with others. We give not only what is due but also what surpasses the rule of justice and that is love. |
