We dislike even the thought of being rejected. We may not be aware that many times we ourselves reject God. Today's gospel speaks of rejection of God's offer of love. Declining his invitation happens over and over again. When we sin against him, when we refuse to reconcile with him, when we postpone our conversion, when we do not participate in the Eucharist and many others, we reject God outright. We say NO to his gracious invitation. |
