30 August: The giftedness of "today." Such motif is very Lucan. "Today, a Savior has been born" (2:11). "Today, you will be with me in Paradise" (23:43). "Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing" (4:21). True indeed, yesterday is but a dream and tomorrow is only a vision but TODAY well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness and every tomorrow a vision of hope. |
