As a priest, I cannot accomplish all those ecclesial tasks without the assistance of men and women. In today's gospel, Jesus is accompanied by the Twelve [men] and some women. Indeed, the Church cannot be without the laypeople. Placed in the different ministries, they collaborate with priests and consecrated persons in apostolic and missionary endeavors. |
