On this day, Oct. 7, in the year 1571, Christians in Rome "asked and they received." While praying the Rosary, they begged God to save the fellow Christians battling with the Muslims in Lepanto. The Christian fleet won. They received God's favor through the help of Our Lady of Victory (later named Our Lady of the Rosary). True indeed, "ask and you will receive." |
